Abstract:

When it comes down to Vietnamese folklore, we can not but mention folk painting forms clearly expressing philosophy on morality, beliefs, recording memories, aspirations to live for the most honest life; contributing to preserve the nation’s ancient culture. Among those painting forms, Dong Ho painting is relatively familiar to the majority of Vietnamese people. Dong Ho paintings are customary because they are closed to the village, the alleyways, and the working life of simple and rustic peasant farmers.
